Included in the list of confirmed symbiotic stars by Vaidis (1988), with an initial classification as M2ep+OB? in Sanduleak & Stephenson (1973). However, the presence of the O-B type star was not confirmed by Allen (1978). In Pereira et al. (2003), only Hα and Hβ emission lines were detected, leading to a suggestion of a spectrum similar to VV Cep and a proposed M1 I classification for the object.
